TecDay at Kanti Baden: 1200 young people discover technology at first hand

Programming robots, producing music from electronic waste or diving into the deep sea with a marine biologist: Yesterday, Wednesday, the cantonal school in Baden became a discovery laboratory for around 1,200 young people. At the STEM Day, organised in collaboration with the TecDay of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences SATW, the pupils experienced technology and science in a practical, creative and eye-opening way. Instead of textbooks and frontal teaching, the timetable included over 60 workshops, three inspiring keynotes and encounters with experts from the Swiss tech and research world.

From the trend radar to the classroom: what the world of work expects from STEM promotion

Two new studies paint a consistent picture: the Haufe Academy’s Trend Radar 2026 outlines the skills required in the workplace of tomorrow. The Swiss STEM Youth Barometer 2026, published by the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences, shows where these skills are being developed – or, indeed, where they are not. A comparison of the two reports makes it clear why promoting STEM is not just an educational issue, but also an economic necessity.
